My Thoughts...

I really enjoy reading the posts in this community every morning. I have really learned alot about caring for chihuahuas, things to look for and I also love seeing the super cute pics. I have been a little disturbed by some of the bickering that seems to go on lately.
One of the reasons I have followed this site for so long is that there hasn't ( Read more... )

I don't think that people were replying to her as if she was personally running a puppymill. That is deffinitely exaggerating what happened. People replied to her and told her that buying a puppy off the side of the road isn't a good idea and gave her GOOD reasons why. Buying a puppy off the side of the road is NOT a good idea, and anyone with half a brain and some education on the subject would agree. I feel like I was perfectly nice to the girl, I want to help her. Because now that she has the dog, it should be taken care of as well as possible ( ... )

sure sometimes people can come off a bit harsh, but all of it is done with good intentions, and i think many people forget that.

which is exactly what i said! "Excuse some of the ladies here, they are always a bit catty & rude -- but only mean well :)" finally we can agree on something ;D

I think saying that people "are a bit catty and rude" was a bit catty and rude. You could have reworded it and said "sometimes people come off a bit harsh, but mean well" it would have gotten your point accross and sounded a lot less bitchy/unnaccepting of good advise.

if you feel you have to butcher my words, feel free...

For the future, please don't purchase dogs off the side of the road.

That could have been said alot better, "it would have gotten your point accross and sounded a lot less bitchy/unnaccepting.."

Seriously, if you don't like it you CAN leave.
As is said often, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

oh yes, I'm sure you could have reworded that and sounded alot less bitchy :]

Sure, I could have reworded those. But I wasn't the one accusing other people of being bitchy, was I? I'm just saying, if you're going to accuse other people of being bitchy, don't do it in a bitchy way, otherwise you're just as bad as they are (I am, whatever).

Which was offensive to me, because for sure I dont feel like that applies to me - deciding to label people catty is a total judgement against them. Why is that even necessary?

I guess I looked at that post (pups on the side of the road...)as people being worried about the "impulsiveness" of it, the health of the pups - etc.

I think from my experience with animal communities - this is kinda the norm. People are just passionate about it.

The "half a brain" part was unnecessary. This is the sort of thing that offends people. =\
