I really enjoy reading the posts in this community every morning. I have really learned alot about caring for chihuahuas, things to look for and I also love seeing the super cute pics. I have been a little disturbed by some of the bickering that seems to go on lately.

Seriously, like I responded to kristen, these drama whore posts are not needed...if you have a problem, contact the mods, as per community rules.

This is a chihuahua community that has a lot of knowledge responsible owners, those owners that are exhibiting dangerous or irresponsible behavior will be told such. Those that ask questions will get answers, perhaps not to their liking. Also, you have to expect to disagree with people on dog care, especially when someone thinks someone is doing something detrimental to the dog/breed/species. If the mods deem behavior inappropriate, well then that is just how it is...it is their community, deal with it or find one more to your liking....that is not unreasnable, that is reality. Perhaps we are trying to push some members out...we sure as heck don't want people that do dangerous things to give advice to other members and represent this community, but as long as they are willing to listen then there is no reason someone that did something that was deemed dangerous or something couldn't stay here and be accepted.

Most of the people that get hostility are repeated offendors, trolls, or just won't listen to advice and push people to the point of hostility. I don't think the first response is ever OMFG die!!

In reference to concern over costs of shots, shots are basic vet care...can't afford that then you can't afford the dog. In reference to buying a dog off the street, you are killing dogs in shelters and helping to fund mills and animal overpopulation.

While bluntness is in fact encouraged here for the sake of the dogs, it's how you are blunt that matters. You're not going to help anyone if you're hostile to them because they made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The difference between good pet owners and bad pet owners is that the good ones learn from their mistakes. The bad ones make excuses and refuse to learn.

Finally, please let me do my job. There are mods here, they are paying attention, and they are capable of taking care of any situation that arises. Calling this post a "drama whore" post does not, in fact, help. It actually hinders.

Shrugs, well that is what the post is. I never said that she couldn't do it, simply advised her on the community rules. I am going to voice my opinion, seeing as that is what this whole LJ thing is for, and, IMO, my direct original response to her was civil if not nice...I addressed her concerns in the nicest way I could.

Like I said, a mistake doesn't make someone a bad pet owner, I said it several times. If they learn from their mistake thats great, we love those sort of people, but it is the people that ignore advice and continue with dangerous behavior that I/we have problems with.

I have no doubt in your ability to do your job, hence why I referred her to in the future use you or tenna as you asked.
