I really enjoy reading the posts in this community every morning. I have really learned alot about caring for chihuahuas, things to look for and I also love seeing the super cute pics. I have been a little disturbed by some of the bickering that seems to go on lately.

You are not the only one who feels this way. I have only been a member for a short time and I have tried to participate in many of the posts.

I have for the most part tried to stay away from the drama that always unfolds in online communities but have often found myself biting my tongue which I hate because I am an outspoken person. I hate to blame age and maturity for these issues because I have found it comes from people of all ages plus I don't want to find myself in the position of saying things like "kids these days" and thus making myself feel old.

I also feel that sometimes people feel very passionate about certain topics and in turn forget to read what they wrote before they hit post. I would never think of sending an email at work without reading it over to make sure it sounds right but with friends sometimes I am just in so much of a hurry to get things out that I don't read it before sending and these are the times we have miscommunication. We also forget that communicating on the internet is so much different then in person because we do not have the body language to go along with the words and sometimes they end up coming out harsh when they are not meant to.

Of course we also do have those who have just made their mind up on certain issues and want everyone to see things the same way they do. That is just not going to happen. One of the best things about having the internet available to us all is having different views from different people and we should consider ourselves lucky to have that available to us. I for one remember the days without internet (OH gawd…now I feel real old!) and it was not all that long ago. I can appreciate all that it has brought to my life but I also hate how it has also allowed so much more stress too.

I would hope that a group of people who have common interests could just learn to get along and stop the bickering but I know that is just not possible, but perhaps we can just try to cut each other a little slack and agree that not all of us agree on every issue. We all DO all agree that we love our Chihuahua’s so we can’t all be that bad!

thank you - you are very right that it is hard to read the intent behind people's statements on the internet due to lack of body language, voice tone, etc. That is why I was saying I was unsure of the intent, but trying to make people aware of how it sounds. I appreciate your suggestion that we cut each other some slack & agree to disagree.
