So today Tia bit some lady.
I wasn't there. My sister had Tia on her lap apparently, and the lady liked and was familiar with small dogs apparently too. Tia growled at her when she reached to her. Then the lady looked Tia in the eyes and Tia bit her on her hand in a savage way (once again i wasn't there, i'm going off what my sister says).
Now I've had people come pet Tia before whilst she's been on my lap. She loves people. She loves meeting people.
I don't understand what's happened.
Sometimes lately she's been lunging at me when I've been going up to her while she's resting. I go to her gently, but it doesn't matter.
We don't hit our dog, and we try to be gentle and not too sudden. also i am trying to train her.
perhaps the problem is consistency? I am consistant and so is my boyfriend, but my parents and my siblings are effing rediculously hopeless. (no wonder i have problems with my self-worth, lmao) since they did such an apparently shitty job at raising 3 children i wonder what toll their behaviour is having on my dog?
orrrr is this just some rebellion thing that will go away? (shes a teenager, 9 months+)
also i wonder how to treat this behaviour. ignore it and reward the good? distract? i think punishing it would make matters worse?
i'd so appreciate anyone who could relate or help me on this.
it'd be a shame if this became a habit of hers. she is a sweet dog.
