How hard or how easy is it to add another chihuahua as a companion to the one you already have?
I rarely leave Chico for more than 4 hours at a time, but I think he'd enjoy/endure the time spent away from me if he had a doggie companion. And, I'd feel less guilty about leaving him alone. Our cat that he bonded with died about a month ago. He was 19 years old.
Chico is a male, and a little over 3 years old. We've had him for a little over a year now. He doesn't esp. like other dogs (taking him to Petsmart has gotten to be a chore), but I've heard or read that they recognize their own breed. Is that true?
Also, when you add another Chi does the first one become less devoted to you and pays more attention to his new friend instead? I know that's what happened when we got a companion doggie for our large dog. He loved dogs so I knew getting another one wouldn't be a problem. With Chico though, I'm concerned that it might be.
Thanks in advance...
