Huh? I thought the origins of Cloud's past was explained perfectly well in the original FF7. And I don't think it was originally intended for Zack to be of any real importance of the main storyline or other than the fact that he was Aeris's ex-boyfriend and the man that Cloud was kinda impersonating. This FF7 prequel...called Crappy Crisis or whatever the hell the game is called has Zack as the main protaginist...going through the game through his point-of-view, before Sephy-poo goes really bonkers, I assume.
And lol, Aeris is now "officially" Aerith(the supposed real name of the character in the Japanese version). Somewhere, Melanie is getting really pissed and decides to hunt down the ones responsible for messing with Aeris's name, Kill Bill style. Lol, I remember Melanie always giving her two cents on her reasons as to why Aerith being the actual name due to translation error between Japan and the U.S. version was complete bullshit. And since she can actually read Japanese...you might want to believe her.
Gah, the game is obviously going to be a very extended version of Cloud's flashback story in the original FF 7. And I can't believe a nine year-old Yuffie is going to be involved as well. Sure, she's going to be a minor character but Yuffie becoming a Materia addict because she was influenced by Zack is complete bull. Dude, in the original FF 7, I don't think she knew who the hell Zack really was.
FF 7 prequels should only exist in the land of fanfiction. And the sequels as well.
