Things are slowly returning to normal around here, with the yay-ness! :)
Had to drop DD off at work this morning, there were hardly any cars in the parking lot today, so we'll see how long he lasts today.
Yesterday was quiet and peaceful, just the way I like it! We had been invited to go over to my cousin's in-laws place in Dunedin, but none of us could really stand the idea of lots of people, lots of gifts, crowds, noise and the fact that the house is kept ice-box cold. So, I pleaded jet-lag (on the MIL's part) and wiggled our way out of it. I'm sure that puts me on their shit list, but oh well. We spent the day quietly, and went to the beach for part of the afternoon. I was sitting on the beach, thinking of all my friends up North going, "Should I call them and let them listen to the waves? NAHHHHH!!! Too cruel!" The weather was lovely and wasn't warm enough for a sunburn. We came home and I made roast chicken, which is their tradition for Christmas and latkes for Hannukah, so it was a nice mix of traditions. I thought that was particularly cool. My big present this year was my family, and it was a great one. I hope everybody had as peaceful a holiday as I did. Now, back to the salt mines!
