Okay, that was weird.
So I was out running errands with my mother today. We had to go to her dermatologist to have her forehead checked. We really didn't have time to stop for lunch, so we were on line at the little cafe downstairs getting her a smoothie with the protein powder added to substitute for actual food. So everything is ok, I'm on line waiting to order, when I feel this little tap on my back. I turn around and it's this little old lady in a power wheel chair. I thought she was going to ask to get by, and I was getting ready to move mom's wheelchair to the right so she could. Instead she says she wants to ask me a personal question, would I mind answering? I shrugged, thinking nothing of it. She asks me how much I weigh. WTF?!?!?! If I were truly a smart ass, I would have said "98 pounds," which, as you who have seen my picture or seen me in person know, is obviously not true. I wasn't, so I simply shrugged my shoulders and said "I don't know, ma'am." She started trying to tell me about her daughter who was "much bigger than me," but I didn't get the rest because my mother started getting upset at the impertenance of her question. I wasn't too comfortable with it either, but my response was to go blank and dumb. I honestly didn't want to be rude, and she did preface her question, but still. I just kept repeating "I don't know" enough times so she'd go away. I honestly haven't stepped on the scale in a long time, but even if I had, I wouldn't tell her. It was just weird. I guess people feel that they can ask fat people anything.
