Song-by-song review: pacific - NEWS [Album]

1. Ai no Matador - As the title suggests, there's a Spanish feel to this song, and the Spanish clicky instruments (I forgot what there were called) was a great addition. The bridge is catchy, but the chorus isn't my favorite.

2. Sayaendou - Starts of great, there's an Arabic feel, slightly reminds me of miyavi's style of singing (the raspy niceness) and the bridge echoes, so it smooths things out. Great! The chorus is really cute, and not to mention EXTREMELY CATCHY.

3. TEPPEN - The happiest/most positive song so far (even though there's only been three so far in this album). Their voices flow close to each others, and the acoustic guitar in the background makes this song feel like you should listen to it on a sunny day and just lie there with nothing to do but enjoy the weather. :) Summer's coming soon, so enjoy it~

4. Change the World - Techno beginning is sweet, guitar chords make it a very rock sound, grungy and dark, but their rapping is rather good. Their voice is electronized occasionally and makes it a good addition to the album. However, I don't like the bridge as much as I like the chorus. If I had to compare this song to a band's style, It'd be FLOW or UVERworld. But it was approached differently.

5. Kimi Omou Yoru - Beginning is the BEST so far. A real Asian ethnic feel, which makes it one of my favorite songs. :) I enjoy Asian songs. Not a big fan of the chorus, but it's still very nice.

6. Alibi - Must be in the top 2 of my favorite songs on this album. It's wayyyyy too cute. And Massu-kun's name is mentioned, so that's a plus. :D Then Tegoshi, I believe. :) Too many positive things to say about this song, I don't know where to start. This song is about a girlfriend who is wondering where her boyfriend (or wife/husband) was, and it turns out that a "girl's heart is a sensitive thing, a girl's mind is clever, a guy's bond with is friends is like steel" etc. etc. and at the very end, it turns out the boyfriend/husband was buying a ring to be the girlfriend/wife's birthday present. :D Very very cute. If you had to listen to only one song from the album, this would be the one. If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, this would be it. It's so complex in it's audio levels, techno, jazz bass, electric guitar. SO much to love.

7. code - Nice, but no my favorite. Chorus is pure love though. A little like..."I'll stand by your side no matter what happens" type music. :) At least that's what it sounds like. I still have to find the translations.

8. Chirarizuma - Rock! Then very pop-y and fun! Veryyy cute! When they sing "Zu mu~" I like that tune. :)

9. Ai Nante - One of my 2 favorites in the album, a very cute, very touching ballad. The piano is GREAT, and the powerful leading into the chorus is admirable. The drum and guitar addition makes it that much better. :D <3 <3 <3

10. Nantoka Narusa - [I'll get back to this one after I listen to it a couple of times]

11. Gomen ne Juliet - A very adorable musicbox-like sound, like a little ballerina should appear and dance around. The deep voices of the guys balances out the higher piano tune. :D Greattttt~ The chorus gets faster, and it's definitely something you feel you should be dancing to.

12. Hadashi no Cinderella - See #10

13. Hoshi wo Mezashite - This song was previously released in the single of the same name. And this song was the first one released after their 1 year hiatus. :) The lyrics I love most are "Is everyone here? Let's aim for the stars!" The beginning is sad, and the rest of the song is full of positivity, and reflects what NEWS went through in that one year, and being able to join back up together. The solos by each member were longer, and muuuchhh loved. Give this one a listen!

14. Mafuyu no Nagareboshi - Definitely something you would feel the need to dance to. Really cute, and they throw in a little English, which makes the world that much brighter. Their voices are just too CUTE!!!

15. Sono Egao Boku ni Misete - Reminds me of the light rock from the 90s. Very nice ending to a great album, very very nice. LISTEN TO IT!

Overall, a very nice album. Give it a shot, it's one of their best releases yet! :D
