IT'S SNOWING OUTSIDE!!!!! :D :D :D
Gosh, I'm excited. I was pretty disappointed that it didn't snow over the holidays, so this makes me pretty happy. :3 But it's not really sticking. However, there's a chance it'll be pretty icy tomorrow. Maybe we'll be lucky and won't have class tomorrow..... *crosses fingers*
Ok, I have more stuff to talk about so I'll put it under this cut since it's probably going to be long.
Yesterday, I had my first animal lab. This week, we had to tip sheep, check their eyes to see if they possibly had parasites, and trim their hooves. Sounds pretty easy right? Well, sadly it wasn't. I learned how to tip sheep this summer up in Boston, but those were nice little sheep. We had to work with 200+ lbs ewes (female sheep) that were PREGNANT. Worst nightmare ever. And it was cold and windy, so that didn't help.
Although it was pretty cold and kinda hard, there were some funny and interesting experiences. My poor partner got her legs covered with projectile sheep poop. Now that was funny. Also, I had some weirdSince I'm only 5'5" and 120, I obviously can't handle 200+ sheep, but hey, I tried. My partner got the first sheep out, so I attempted to get the next one. Bad idea. As I was pushing my sheep out with my hand on its butt and my hand under it's head, it BOLTED out of that pen and dragged me along with it. Fun stuff, but of course, it doesn't end there. I was like "Ok, you get the next sheep and I'll check it out." So she got the sheep and I was like "yeah! I got you now." Wrong again. I got on top of the sheep (in a horse riding/saddle position). THEN the sheep saw an opportunity to escape, so it ran off.....with me still on top of it. I plowed into at least 3 people and I couldn't get off because the sheep was so pregnant and huge. So yeah, I rode a sheep for a couple of seconds and then had a hard landing on the dirt/manure. Wooooooo. Also, there apparently there was a coyote when we were there, so that didn't help the sheep. Sadly, we heard some gunshots, so I guess they killed it while we were there.
Well, time for me to study for my possible Chinese quiz tomorrow. I don't wanna gooooooooo....
