Too cold for Nyx and me!

Normally I don't blanket my horses until it gets below freezing. Which means almost never since I live in Florida. But tonight it is a breezy, chilly, damp 48 degrees, so Amy and I blanketed Nyx, my nearly bald varnish roan Friesian x Stonewall filly. Poor baby, she got the worst of that mix, the brittle transition roan hair that the Appy gene can give,... And to think she came out covered in hair so thick it made ringlets, with her tail to her hocks and her mane long already, with feathery feet, straight from the womb!

She does show the promise of more hair next year though; already her mane is a thick white fuzz all of 4" long! LOL!

Everyone, Happy Thanksgiving, and stay warm and dry!
