I've been trying to write more lately. Or at least write down more story and plot and dialogue ideas. After
the con last weekend,
2012ad mentioned that she'd like to design comic book characters. So, I told her I'd give her a few of mine to play around with. I figured she'd enjoy superheroes. I've got an idea for a superhero series called Rooftop Nights, so, I told her a bit about it and let her go wild. Her first pass at Chesire Cat (given to her due to her obsession strong appreciation of Alice In Wonderland) was pretty strong. Okay, she doesn't have a head, but we can fix that later. Now if we can figure out a color scheme...
Meanwhile, I played around with Blindside. I've had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, but on paper, it looked like garbage. Random doodling and a few new lines later and the design was salvageable. Now, if I could figure out his color scheme.
Aleister is pretty much completely hopeless. I'm so afraid when we get to the rest...
Actually, just for fun, here's a list of names I've come up with for Rooftop Nights:
-Amp
-Johnny Hurricane
-StormMaster
-Dr. Thunder
-Firefight (I've wanted to use this name for a character since I was thirteen. Originally, he was a character I wanted to use in a
Generation X pitch that I was 6,946,145,976,001 percent certain
Marvel would buy. I'm way too excited to get to his story.)
-Wildfire
-Knightstick (Nightstick)
-White Light (White Lamplight)
-Hound
-Requiem (For some reason, I want to say this was/is a team name.)
-Black Angel
-Beacon
-Shadow of Death
-Lucky Seven (This is a name for a team, based on the idea that the number seven is a magical number. It's also a reference to the
Magnificent Seven, which was based on
Seven Samurai. The Magnificent Seven also refers to the "big guns" line-up of the
JLA.)
-Mr. Jinx
-Trigger-Happy Jack
-Angry Johnny
-Rebel Yell
-X.E.R.O.
-Triton
-Public Enemy (A criminal who splits into duplicates, i.e. Public Enemy #1, #2, etc.)
As for the others... There's a ton of references, can you pick them out?
