I knew our offense could get going against the Bengals last place defense. Larry got his 100 yard game, Gonzalez had a record breaking day, and Damon played the best game he's played all year! Good Job

It's not poor planning, it is what it is. LJ is the back, we invest in him, the same way the Colts invest in Manning, the Patriots in Brady. Take those guys out...who comes in for Manning or Brady...thank you, no one worth a dime could take their place on their team, game over!
Same thing here with Larry. We had 5 running backs on the roster when training camp begin so i don't know where you're getting that from anyway lol.
And yes you put your eggs in your star player basket or someone else is going to put their eggs in their basket if you want to hang on to them. You build your team around your star players. We didn't do that last week, we rushed larry 12 times and we didn't win. Well we rush larry 25 times and guess what we won.
We have the talent to be solid?? NOt in 2007! We do not have the talent to be solid. We can't be a New England this season, are you kidding me?? We have no offensive line, we have no quarterback, we have no solid receiver core...Bowe is exciting, Eddie is old, sammie and webb are not dependable. We have rookie safetys...we do not have the talent to be solid. We are not a championship team this year. We can't match up to the elites of this league now, you must be honest with yourself and that's why we are rebuilding to get to that point.
Yeah the point is to win in the season you're in but the reality of it is you can't do that in the NFL. When it's your turn, it's your turn. Our turn was in 2003 and guess what, we fail to take advantage of our best team and make the super bowl. Started 9-0, bye in the playoffs and we let the Colts come in our house and beat us.
Solid does not necessarily mean championship. Solid means just that -- a capable team. And I do believe we have the talent right now to be much better -- and consistent -- than we are. Does that mean we're in the NE/DAL/IND leagues? Hell no. Does it mean we need much more on offense (as I've already noted)? Yes. But we should be better than 3-3 and, with the weakness of this year's AFC West, be CLEARLY in first place...not just limping in by default.
"Our turn" was also throughout most of the 90s with Marty, but we rarely converted it into post-season wins. That tells me there is something going on behind the scenes, administratively. The front office is due for a shakeup that I can only pray happens during this next offseason.
What gets me about our running back situation is that we spent so much money for nothing. LJ doesn't care about this team, he doesn't care about the fans, he only cares about LJ. We could have done a hell of a lot with his little $13 million this year. I don't think we're getting our return on investment, nor will we any time in the future. A "star player" this does not make.
Well im not ashame of our 3 loses. It came against the Bears, the NFC Champion, a good Jacksonville team who are sitting 4-1 now and a good Houston team who was bound to win on opening day.
But look who we beat, a Minnesota team who ran for 234 yards yesterday, a good San Diego team, and held off an explosive Bengals offense. Im not ashamed at all.
Like i said in recents post, i had us sitting at 2-4 before Oakland. Experts picked us to be the worst team in the league since we're rebuilding but we're sitting 3-3. I think we are doing better than expected...
I know its probably not my place to jump into a discussion, however I want to whole heartedly agree with you about LJ. After watching LJ cry and hold out for money, and now his "me me me" attitude, I have lost most of my respect for him.
