As predicted

As predicted, I thought we would be sitting at 0-2 on this date. Nevertheless, I thought our first win would come at home against another young team, the Vikings. There is no excuse for losing this game at home; our defense should pick off Tarvaries Jackson (if he starts) and stop Petersen on the ground. We should have a field day in the running ( Read more... )

Was that not the most *ridiculous* last 20 seconds of a game ever? Honestly, I can do without the drama.

But the boys were looking better today. Defense is gelling nicely (though how we have the 6th best pass defense in the NFL is beyond me); offense is showing a few signs of improvement, but I'm probably being overly optimistic.

Next week should be interesting in San Diego. I'm sure they're not pleased about losing at Green Bay today, not to mention that 1-2 record which an alleged Super Bowl contender should NOT have...

Here's the thing. We know Damon Huard is a decent QB. I have always said that Trent's better, but I have NEVER said that Damon was bad. We still have most of the weapons on Offense that we had a couple years ago. The problem is the O line. That's not as good as it was, but we still have 3 really good players, and 2 decent players up there. I say we are average in that spot.

The problem has been the play calling. 8 or 9 up front? Throw. The back off the line, run. Everyone knows what LJ can do. Our problem is that we don't have the line it takes to let him do that when the entire defense is sitting on the line.

If Solari and Herm would just be a little flexible, we could rock on Offense too.

The D? I like what they are doing. Maybe they aren't the best all around D out there, but they make big plays. They also give up big plays. I'm happy with where they are.

San Diego lost some things over the off season. They still have tons of talent, but the play calling isn't what it should be. Sound familiar? ;)

Oh, I said in the preseason that San Diego was going to implode this season. I'm still holding by that.

And the problem is forever the offensive line, which is why our draft choices drive me batty.

Yeah, I was dumbfounded when we didn't get anyone in the draft. Should have went for a Tackle instead of a Kicker.

The D looks so much better with Jared Allen back in there, what a difference maker!

We have to figure out a way to get Larry going, bad offensive line but some kind of way we got to get him more yards. His long run was brought back on a hold. When the game end, he was not really smiling walking off the field, i saw the look of "i should have had a 100yard game!" lol. What's going on with LJ and LT this year? Let's hope he have a breakout game next week!

"If Solari and Herm would just be a little flexible, we could rock on Offense too."

But you're leaving out one very important fact...

Herm Edwards sucks.

But I'm happy they won today.
(just not sure how many more of them we'll see this year)
