think I might explore sound soon.

well with the excitement of the hearing aid to come I have been thinking perhaps dipping into audio might now be a bad idea. Its not that I can not hear music... In fact quite the opposite... If I have gone with you to a show or bar odds are I heard the music and nothing else (mostly due to any form of music I like coming in 2 volumes... loud and louder)

But yes, long long ago I took piano lessons... I did damn good and made fast progress... I think it was more memorizing the keys and speed then the audio itself. But around 1 year into the shebang we got down to one car for the family so driving to lessons was out of the question and never returned.

So I think I might pickup a basic little 61 keyboard to start with(cant really justify a 88 key keyboard at this juncture) also USB midi boxes appear to be dirt cheep so it would give me a chance to try out the freebee garage band program on the laptop, also a nice audio learning experience(that and I can bug my buddy Keven every hour or so with stupid questions about audio programs... It will give me some revenge for his foray into photoshop) Thinking I'll go for a weighted key model so it feels more Piano like.

I could do what everybody else does when they want to foray into music and get a guitar... but then again I have always been fascinated by pianos... They just seemed more elegant, powerful and intimidating to myself.

piano, hearing, foray
