...that you end up apologizing for something you did not really do?

Yet, then again, I guess you are apologizing for retaliating harshly.  I find it intriguing that we (people) get so caught up in what he said, she said, what was said.  That the context of what was said was nothing to get mad about in the first place.  It reminds me of that telephone game where you sit in a circle and whisper in your neighbors hear, and by the time it gets around, the original message has been changed.

It's like we have selective hearing and vision.  We focus on one or two words, red flags go up and BAM! war of words has started, and before you know it, she is not talking to him, he is not talking to the dog, and Mom is stuck in the middle.

Today I was pondering, what should one take personally and what should (words of phrases) one brush off?
