It's going to be an interesting semester rant.

I have been lucky in the past...I don't know...say year and a half to have peaceful respectful roommates/housemates in dorm life.  Well this time around it is different. The 'new guard' does not really talk to the 'old guard' and the 'new guard' seem to be in their own little group.  As of know there are 3 people who are from past semesters.  The whole second floor is new, and a bit loud.  As for roommates...well there is only 2 of them and one is from next door.  The other is new.

So, I got this snoring problem.  It's like genetic.  Anyway, it's hard to get a good rest.  The bad bed adds to it.  Though I am starting to notice that to 'keep me up' the upper bunk guy is shaking the bed, sometimes a little too much.  I admit I feel bad for snoring and end up on my back to keep my back from hurting, but to shake the bed when I just close my eyes after being awaken?  That is a bit too much.  As I write this now, he is snoring away.  Irony.

On to classes.  I have had all of them.  Found out that we have to make up a class that fell on Labor Day.  WTF?!? I thought everything equals out when Thanksgiving rolls around?  So, that means next Saturday at 12pm, I will get to attend class.  It is an optional day, because everyone has different schedules, but one should at least tend it.  I will have to get directions to find my way, because Golden Gate park is huge.  Oh, this is Cinematography 1: Intro to 16mm film.  For me...it's a refresher and learn the teachers lingo.  Granted I will learn more of the Bolex camera and it's moving parts, but F-stops, and that...it does not change.

Now on to Lighting class.  I thought this class would be cool and interesting.  I do not know now, I think my work with Stage lighting tainted it.  Yes they are 2 different animals, but for me it is experimenting with color.  In film, you experiment with light, but it is to mimic real life.  It will be challenging here and there.

Edit 4 class...I am guessing it is because of something I want to do, I look forward to the class.  I finished a project in about 8 hours.  I am eager to bang them out, learn, get familiar with AVID.  Which reminds me, I have to see if I can get it before the end of this week.  If I do, I get the new upgrade for Free.  That is a deal.

Lastly Sound 3.  The cool thing is that we do not get any tests, or quizes, or homework, but there is a catch.  You have to work your tail off.  I think you will work your tail off.  The teacher said think of it more as a real world experience than a class.  I am kind of interested on how much time I am going to have to put into the class...outside of class that is.  So, I might be spending time at 180 New Montgomery.  My friend knows about it all last semester with Sound 2.  Spending until 1am finishing up on sound projects.

That pretty much does it for now...until I can think of something else to rant about.  So until next time...I think I am going to make like a baby...and head out.
