Confused flora.
Definitely getting to be winter here, it’s cold enough to wear a jacket all the time, nearly all the leaves have fallen off the trees, nearly all plants are dead from the cold, and my feet are freezing at night. Within a couple weeks it will probably start to snow too.
So today I went around the house and sealed up all the windows with that plastic weather proofing stuff, without it you could feel cold passing right through the old windows.
Despite all the cold and signs of winter I found something odd in the garden while letting Artimis and Blackwind get some fresh air. This small very bright pink and red flower (shown below) blooming amongst all the dead plants and frosted grass, like it didn’t know it was too cold for flowers like that. It was using up energy it should have been saving up for surviving the winter to attract flying insects and birds that were long gone. Just goes to show that even plants mess up at times. O_o
