Penguin money
Last week I received my first royalty check: $1271.16. 
Yay!
It'd be nice if checks like this would keep showing up on a regular basis, but I have reason to believe otherwise. When the book was slashdotted, it jumped to Amazon's top 500--for the space of a few hours. Last time I checked it was in the top 24,000.
Since fame is fleeting, I'd like to spend this $1271 on something that will last. Ideas so far:
