5 Favorite Songs +++

Aug 13, 2005 02:53

I'm still getting to yr damn questions tomorrow, I swears.

Everyone's doing the five songs thing again & even though I just made a songs post I'm always up for talking about it some more. Music! Then Birah did a bunch of other fives stuff and "tagged" me, so here you go

5 Songs I'm Digging Lately
1. Too Drunk To Fuck - Nouvelle Vague
Mostly because of the noises she makes in between the lines. Oh come on, you know you love ridiculous lounge covers of popular songs.
2. Way Too Good - Figurine [thanks teahart]
It's super ridculous poppy but I love love love love it and "get it". Or it gets me. Oh man, yeah.
3. Wicked Child - Radiohead [thanks birdhart]
B-side that I can't get enough of. I'm not nearly as huge a Radiohead fan as some, but I love these fairly simple songs with Thom Yorke's voice so prominent. Yeah.
4. Casimir Pulaski Day - Sufjan Stevens
I keep focusing on different tracks from the epic Illinois, this is the one lately. So pretty.
5. Que Onda Guero - Beck
The new Beck album grows on me more and more. This song in particular makes me want to jam in a car.

5 snacks I enjoy
1. Almonds!
2. Cherries!
3. Kerbey Lane Queso!
4. Spree!
5. Almond Butter Cookies!

5 songs I know all of the lyrics to [like Birah, I'm sticking with songs that I can sing totally unreminded + unaccompanied. there's lots of those, though, so I narrowed it down further to songs I find myself singing a lot. For whatever reason.]
1. Girl's Room - Liz Phair
2. With Arms Outstretched - Rilo Kiley
3. Take A Chance On Me - ABBA
4. Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson [or, er, Ted Leo]
5. Keep The Customer Satisfied - Simon and Garfunkel

5 semi-impractical things I would do with 100 million dollars
1. Own an awesome home or neat apartment in all of my favorite places and places where my best friends live -- namely Austin, Portland, New York, L.A., Montreal, Durango, and Prague.
2. Own a vespa, a horse, and a hybrid car. Transportation fun!
3. Private jet for seeing friends who don't live in above mentioned cities, visiting Australia and Japan, and seeing rock shows whenever and wherever I want.
4. Give all the writers, photographer, animators, artists, and filmmakers I know huge grants to work on their projects.
5. Give a lot of money to some very specific action-oriented non-profits I trust -- such as Food Not Bombs, The Inside Books Project, Greenpeace, The Education Empowerment Association, Not Back To School Camp, Austin Area Homeschoolers, and Capitol Area Master Naturalists.
