This feels weird.

From a pony named Sunny Daze, comes a custom named Starry Nights

This is what I’d been spending the last couple of weeks working on. Whenever I get some new artform to play and experiment with, my go-to “test” is Starry Night. It’s got contrasty colors, it’s got both fine lines and blocky bits, and most of all it’s recognizable. It’s my “Hello, World!” of art.

So after I’d done a couple of pony mods and gotten the basics down, I decided to give her a a whirl. I took a white pony named Sunny Daze, cut her hair and tail off, painted her blue, and let the paint fly. Only after I was half done with her did I realize how fitting her origins were. She got some new hair in four different shades, and rather than do anything fancy with it, I left it long and straight. Her paint’s fancy enough, and I didn’t want anything to compete with it.

I posted her on a pony collector site. Within an hour I had someone wanting to trade for her, and within 12 she’d been sold to a second buyer. Before 24 hours were gone, someone else was interested in her, and is now on my waiting list to get a similar one painted. I have a waiting list, y’all.

I have a waiting list, because I’m currently working on a 4-pony set for someone else, who commissioned me before the money the first buy had sent me have even cooled in my Paypal account. That set is currently funding my “start up costs”, for beefing up my library of paint, and possibly even an airbrush later this week.

This is so weird to me.
