There are not enough hours in a day. Holy Hell. I'm in the middle of a very stressful two weeks, which, thank God, will end in an awesome long weekend in Chicago.

I'm trying to get the house clean and ship shape for Michelle's visit, all the while trying to juggle OMG so much work at work, stupidly scheduled meetings (come on, 3 PM on the very other site of the county south of here!!! I hate you, corporate!). And since I'm having a short week next week, I'm trying to cram as much working hours into four days that I'm beginning to think, why come down here, Michelle, because we'll hardly be seeing each other. But! After all of that, I get to see pretty people!!!! I'm so excited I can't stand it. November is REALLY shaping up to kill me with exhaustion and at the same time being The Best Month Ever. Which brings me to last night.

I went to the Dallas County Democratic Party's block party. And it was an amazing night. Aside from the obvious good news, it was an absoloutely pleasant night all around. People we in such a great mood, friendy to, and striking up conversation with, practical strangers, and all that police force was much appreciated, but seriously not needed.

I feel like I'm always apologizing for my bad skills with my camera. It was dark, it was outside, there were tons of people. I did the best I could. Plus, the date is still wrong in some all of the pictures, but I fixed it while waiting for Obama to speak. I fail. Anyways,

BIshop Arts District in Oak Cliff, Dallas, TX. They blocked off a street and put up a stage with a screen, plus two more screens on either site. It was really quite good.

A little over exposure never killed anybody, eh? At least here one can tell that it's more people than just two rows beyond the camera. Those bright lights I hated. TV news groups, right smack across the stage. They had the best seats, seriously.

Dana and Patty. Of all the pictures I took, those are the only people I know that are on any pictures. It doesn't make sense grammatically? What do you mean?

Hysterical sign someone carried.

More people I don't know.

MOre. Bonus: Obama/Biden sign.

Don't know the people, but bonus: Lupe Valdez sign. She kept her position as first latino, female, and gay Sherrif of Dallas County. Go, girl!

It was quite funny. If I remember correctly (and tell me if I'm wrong) but when they called Virginia (I believe), we were all standing off to the side in front of this screen, which showed the local elections. After all the cries of joy erupted, I tried to get closer to the bigger screen to check which state, and came back to my group and told them (again, Virginia, I believe), when the screams of joy got even louder, and again I tried to get back to the big screen, and all I saw was a flag waving, and I thought, Oh, SHIT! Is this it? And I went back to my people and said, "they called it!" And Michael asked, "which state?" And said, "no, the United States, man! They called it!" Of course they didn't officially call it, they projected, but come on, for me this was over when Obama had around 170 electoral votes and McCain had, what, 50?

Indulge me. My husband.

The first family elect. I hate my camera. The date was right, I swear. Ugh.

President elect Barack Obama.
You know, I promised I'd finish his book before he became president. But I just couldn't. That book had more names than the freaking phone book. I made my head hurt. But I will finish it, Mr. President, I will.

I kept filming until my memory card was full. What an amazing speech. He knows how to talk, how to use words to bring across his important message. He's graceful and super intelligent, and he's the next President of the USA. And I know there was a huge sigh of relief heard around the world last night, and knowing that America is on its way up and I'm able to be here and witness it after having witnessed last night, I can only say that I'm extremely happy for America, and for my son, who will be thirteen when Obama runs again (hopefully), and seventeen when Obama leaves his post (well, you know), and twenty-one when he can cast his first presidential vote in 2020. Way to go, America!
