People familiar with Pierz Anthony's "Xanth" series may recognize the rip-off of my subject line- those who are not have just been informed that it wasn't a blaze of brilliance.
Many moons ago, a baby girl was fighting to stay inside her mamma's womb just a little bit longer. She was foiled by an evil doctor who decided that after the mamma's 2 days of hard labor, the baby was going to be forcibly removed with forceps. The child was told, later in life, that her head was nearly crushed by the forceps, and that it took nearly three months for her head to heal. Thirty-two years later, some folks beg to differ. Something about this girl just ain't right.
