but ix-nay on the strikes. why? because i almost went on strike and the thought of not getting paid REALLLLLY sucks. plus striking really distracts you from your primary job of teaching. now granted, i'm generally all for something that'lll distract me from some asshole kids i have, but when it's not getting paid and having to go to ANOTHER meeting telling me why i should be angry at the school board? nah, i'll teach, thanks. \ but the other two--fucking right, it's awesome!!
So tell me, what happens if you decide to cross the stike line? Like, you choose not to stike and want to work and get paid? Do the teachers hate you forever, key your car, break you knee caps or what?
I'm sort of freaked out with the idea of joining a union. What if I don't agree with the union!?
Leigh, you are awesome. Thank you so much for the explaination. I'm so new at this, and really have no idea what teacher's unions are all about. However, as soon as I start signing contracts for a job (crosses fingers) the teacher's union will be all I ever hear about.
It is obvious that teachers have the union to thank for all of the benefits and such. From my newbie perspecive, however, it seems a bit scary to join something so large... what if I don't agree with everything?
