following the crowd
i see not everyone is liking college.
i guess i'm in that group.
don't get me wrong, i love the music classes. big band, my combo, even theory/harmony. i love the other musicians and the time that i get to jam with them.
but, i hate so much about school that the negatives outweigh the positives.
i hate the hour and half commute i have to make each way, in some cases the commute in total being longer then the classes i have to go to on certain days. i hate the bullshit classes like English 110 and the New Student Seminar, which waste time where I could be practicing, sleeping, jamming, or working. I hate the fact that I am so far away from school that I can't spend anymore time then class time there. I hate the fact that I have to work so I can pay for my transportation costs and food and whatever else I need money for. I hate the fact that between work and school I barely have enough time to practice, sleep, write in the LJ and go out at night.
full scholarship or not, i am giving CCNY till December. if the situation has not improved by then, i am going to start looking for a transfer for the next fall semester. i dont care what school, i dont care where - just someplace with a great music program, dorms, and hot girls.
yea the ccny girls are fugly. FUGLY. but thats another story in itself :o)
