it is summer in ulster county

this is what happens on the morning of the first day of being home/across the river: a nancy ostrovsky mural is on the front page of the newspaper. it's controversial, the neighbors don't like kids holding hands on the side of a hippy school. on the radio, the guy who runs the chronogram is talking about freestyle frolick at the center for symbolic studies (the farm!) and then about bill vanaver (who had a heart attack - there is a benefit concert for the vanavers at the bardavon soon) and then about the "actors and writers" play going on soon in olive bridge (which i can only assume involves those women who did the stuff at the high school and/or melissa leo).

also i am totally playing hooky next semester.
