Alright, I really must stop being afraid of calling people. I really really REALLY want to get into that class, and if it is full I will need to have the professor sign a sheet of paper to let me in, that means that I need to call him and book an appointment... I did email him but that is sissy...what if it gets buried under a pile of emails and

I used to be beyond terrified of calling anyone. I couldn't even order a pizza I always had to get someone else to do it.

So I started writing 'scripts' about what I want to say... and that made it easier and easier... soon it got all right with calling people and then it was just the answering machine to deal with. I refused to leave msgs. So I would often hang up write down what I was gonna say then call back and read it to the machine.

I still do that with people I don't know... but with people I know well I just blabber.

I find that I'm fine once I CONVINCE myself that I HAVE to call them. Then I'm all professional and fine. But it takes awhile to convince myself that it needs to be done. I'll find other ways to get in contact with them and procrastinate the phone call. I'm fine calling friends, and ordering food and stuff... but I don't know... why are professors so scarey?
