MAYURI: Owner's Guide and Maintenance Manual
Congratulations! You are now the owner of a brand-new MAYURI unit. To get the most use out of your unit, please carefully read the following instructions.

Basic Information

Name: Kurotsuchi Mayuri
Date of Manufacture: Unknown
Place of Manufacture: Seireitei, 12th Divison
Height: Fairly tall
Weight: Average

Your MAYURI unit comes with the following accessories:
  • 1 Division 12 Captain’s jacket
  • 2 Shihakushou
  • 1 Pair white tabi
  • 1 Pair waraji
  • 1 Ornate set of face paint
  • 1 Ashisogi Jizo
Opening Your MAYURI Unit:

MAYURI units are quite dangerous, so the best method of removing your MAYURI unit from the packaging is luring it out with a scientific test subject.

Programming:
Your MAYURI unit is programmed to perform any of the following functions:
  • Captain: This is your MAYURI unit's current ranking in the Gotei 13. He enjoys it, and will do anything “for Science”.
  • Mad Scientist: MAYURI units are notoriously intelligent, and it will require lots of time and care to get your unit to care about you enough to recognise your existence because they spend lots of time doing science.
  • Boyfriend: If a MAYURI unit has not been in extended contact with a BYAKUYA unit, it will not object to going out on dates- particularly if it involves a few free Pike Fish. Not to mention MAYURI units are pretty effective arm candy.

Modes:
Your MAYURI unit comes programmed with the following modes:
  • Eccentric (default)
  • Insanely Gleeful
  • Insane
  • Raep (locked)
  • OOC (locked)
The default Eccentric mode is different from Insanely Gleeful mode, no matter how similar the two seem. In Insane mode, MAYURI units are a bit more insane and are more likely to do a bit of work that usually involves firing some lasers, testing the MUGURUMA (or Specimen 329) units or making dangerous devices because the MAYURI unit "has the funding”.

Raep mode can only be unlocked by removing the face paint provided with your MAYURI unit. In this mode, MAYURI units will raep any BYAKUYA units nearby without provocation, and will not respond to any commands or requests until the raep is completed.

OOC mode can only be unlocked if your MAYURI unit never interacts with a NEMU unit, an AKON unit or a BYAKUYA unit. Putting it in extended contact with a URAHARA unit that is also in OOC mode will eventually activate this mode, and the two will make out or, occasionally, get it on.

Relationships With Other Units
  • NEMU: Your MAYURI unit is a father to this unit and as such the two units will get on quite well.
  • AKON: If the AKON unit has spent extended time with a NEMU unit which MAYURI has also been in contact with, then the MAYURI unit will treat the AKON unit like a son-in-law.
  • BYAKUYA: Partner to your MAYURI unit, the two have a very close relationship. Once two are put together, they are pretty much inseparable.
  • YAMAMOTO: This is the MAYURI unit's superior.
  • URAHARA: URAHARA units are one of the few units who understand science like the MAYURI units, but the two do not necessarily get along. URAHARA units are the only units that can unlock your MAYURI unit's OOC mode.

Cleaning:
Your MAYURI unit is fully capable of cleaning itself. However, it is a good idea to step into the shower with your MAYURI unit to give lessons on how to operate its unit.

Warning: MAYURI units and its manufacturers are not responsible for any marital disputes caused by bathing a MAYURI unit.

Feeding and Rest:

MAYURI units are technically dead, and do not truly require any food or rest. They enjoy Pike Fish and dislike onions, but make sure they get a normal diet along with these. MAYURI units have normal sleeping hours so there is nothing to worry about here.
Disposal
Should you ever tire of your MAYURI unit firing lasers around your house and constantly finding dissected bodies of Quincies everywhere, simply return your unit to the manufacturers or give it to a fan girl.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When my MAYURI unit first arrived, it had tan skin, but now it doesn’t. Is it broken?

A: Your MAYURI unit has simply applied its face paint. This is normal.

Q: My MAYURI unit hasn’t left the house in days. Is this normal?

A: Yes. Your MAYURI unit has probably just spent hours in its laboratory on a science project.

Troubleshooting

Problem: After activating Raep mode, your MAYURI unit has become angry and twitchy.
Solution: Your MAYURI unit is suffering from a programming glitch from Raep mode. This can only be remedied by either finding a BYAKUYA unit, or complete reprogramming.

Problem: Your MAYURI unit refuses to spend time with an URAHARA unit.
Solution: Your MAYURI unit's OOC mode has been locked by a BYAKUYA unit. Reset your unit and try again.

Final Note
With proper guidance and care, your MAYURI unit should live an indefinite number of years (the manufacturers are not sure of a Shinigami's lifespan). Thank you for purchasing this fine product.
