text message spam - how to STOP it
For text message spam sent via e-mail, an iPhone option vs. e-mail spam is

NOTE: This will disable things like text messages from friends through LJ or FB, but there are ways to make aliases if you're really that addicted.
And in case that doesn't work and they're still bugging you, this is why texting STOP to 313-131 or other spammers works:

It's a standard cell phone carrier clause as well as an FCC regulation that opt out instructions be sent, but it's only required in the first message.
