Sooo, Saturday. David & I were driving back from his house (we had gone to see the Green Day concert - awesome, btw) and got into a pretty bad accident. It was raining & this guy cut David off so he braked & swerved into the shoulder, then hydroplaned into a guardrail at 50mph. His car was totaled and somehow, we made it out alive. I had to go to the hospital with chest & back pain & a possibly fractured toe. David came out with minor scrapes and bruises. We both have some pretty crazy seat belt burn on our chest, stomach, hips & waist.
Here's pics of the accident. The towtruck driver told us that he had seen an accident similar to ours that morning but not as bad and both driver & passenger died. It's truly a miracle we're still alive...I still can't really believe it happened. The best part about it was that the guy who cut us off had no idea, he just drove off - I dont even think he ever saw that we were there. No one stopped for us on our side, however 3 truckers called the police on their radios. A nice couple stopped on the other side of the highway & had us go sit in their truck (with their sleeping infant) until all the emergency people came. But yea... crazy. I'm not driving in the rain for quite a while... Please be careful the next time it's raining, well, be careful all the time. And always wear your seatbelt, thank God for them. And airbags. They hurt like a mofo afterwards (though at the time you dont feel them at all, you dont even see or hear them being deployed they're so fast), but without them, I dont even want to think about it. So yea, be careful!!!
