Does nobody fact check anymore?
I'm currently reading Life and Death in the Third Reich by Peter Fritzsche, a professor at the University of Illinois. The book is published by Harvard University Press. It contains an astonishing howler. Paul Fussell, literary scholar and Harvard Ph.D, is described as "a British soldier". I was finding the book quite thought provoking but I'm now wondering how much else is completely nonsensical. Seriously, don't academic books have editors anymore?
