Hounds of Love
Had two pieces read in class today. I laughed at one of my own jokes - god, I bet they detest me. Still, both were warmly received. Got some helpful ideas for further writing, which was very welcome.
I have a work placement! The Western Gazette got back to me after a month (half a dozen phone calls, two letters). The hours may be 8.30 to 5, but damn it, it'll be worth it.
Got the Futureheads in my head, which is an improvement, as I spent ages last night trying to remember any of their songs. It's obviously good stuff, but fidgetty. Refuses to settle down like, say, "Take Me Out." I still think Bloc Party are worth more praise, though.
And I've barely touched the Kaiser Chiefs. What I've heard is good, but one band at a time, people.
Oh, and I felt genuinely annoyed when Rebecca said she couldn't attend writing thing later.
Somebody in Fiction read out a really awful piece. Seriously, kids would turn their noses up at it. So satisfying, realising that you're wittier than somebody. Well. At least one person.
