wow, I am in Jonesboro, Arkansass right now at a public library thinking, "How did I get here?" The truth is I feel asleep 2 days ago in Ypsilanti and awoke here this morning with a head full of carrot juice and a mysterious loaf of bread. I feel weird because I had so many things to do before I left for this trip ... like SAY GOOD-BYE TO MY FANTASTIC FRIEND MARIA ORITI WHO IS LEAVING FOR ITALY IN A FEW WEEKS! I don't know if I will be back before she leaves, but I fear I will not! Fuck! I feel like my departure date totally snuck up on meand I had no chance to say good-bye to lots of people I love.
We did have a fun little show the night before Aleise and I left at Lester House where I got to give props to the Funsters and say some good-byes. Gina sang a great song about a yellow cardigan (I heard it before, but it still rules) and another really fantastic song about video games and Katy $hay (another kindred soul that I did not get to hang out with before leaving thanks to a 2 1/2 hour delay on all activities occuring within the 72 hours before my departure that led for me to miss her presence at the coop when I stopped by). Ack! I feel like my wings are slipping!
I already miss my peeps but I am having fun. We played a show last night in Chicago. We were really late and things were frantic trying to get to the show in time to play (Dustin was also suppossed to meet us there & play but he missed a transfer somewhere in southern California and wasn't able to make it in time) but everything was gravy; we got to hang with Paul Velat (who performs as Lord of the Yum-Yum and who happens to be one of the nicest people I know in the fair city of Wind or any other city for that matter) and saw Emily Powers play some songs at a bar shortly after our set. We left Chicago at 1:15 in the a.m. and arriving in Jonesboro, Arkansass a few hours ago and now we are going to go eat spaghetti and swim in the lake that doesn't have ringworms and then play a show and then wake up at 7:30 in the morning so we can drive 2 1/2 hours to Little Rock (we have a ride that's not a bus) and eat some special magic pancakes prepared by tiny elves.
I love y'all!!!
