Christmas Weekend

Dec 28, 2009 00:03

It's been very low-key and relaxing. Chris and I, we've done a lot of sleeping in and lounging around. And eating good food. His parents had us over for Christmas lunch/dinner on Friday, which was awesome because his mom is a really good cook, and some of her dishes take me back to the days when my grandmother was around and creating bomb-ass meals.

Last Thursday, Christmas Eve, was also the 10-year anniversary of said grandmother's passing. The holiday's haven't been the same since, but I'm perfectly okay with that. I've never been the festive type, anyway.

I'm not ready to go back to work, but we have another 3-day weekend up ahead, so I can't complain. Plus, the office will be quieter, meaning that I'll be less distracted and can get more done.

I also baked a crapton of chocolate chip cookies tonight. First time ever doing it by myself. Both Chris and Amber liked them, so I guess that's a win. HELL YEAH!
