 Dad comes back from CA and says that I should apply for a loan through the Sally Mae Foundation. I just told that bastard that I'd applied to so many different loan places and got denied. What makes him think that this one would be any different? So, basically, he has no money for me, and then wants me to drive all the way to Jax for BBQ. Sorry,

I know this isn't the same..but my dad told me that paying for college is a gift, not a given. i shouldn't expect him to pay. and if he gives me money for school, then he'd have to give my brothers the same amount (to blow on nothing) to be fair. And he HAS money. I was a bit flabbergasted. You'd think as a parent they'd WANT their kid to go to college and do what it took to get them thru it. I think maybe due to our parents age, they just don't realize how hard it is to get anywhere without a college degree anymore. Good luck though.
