explain to me

So, why is it that Canadian and British soldiers are currently fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan, but in the articles I've read, it mentions nothing of American troops? I'm not sure I understand, our soldiers are getting killed in suicide bomb attacks in Iraq, but not fighting those who actually terrorized America. Am I missing something? Seriously? Other than the fact that we all know the war in Iraq has some underlying financial gain tactic for America, which possibly lies in the oil industry, why are we not fighting our real enemy? I'm so baffled by the underhandedness of this war. With all the "Great American History" I guess I never thought I'd see something so backwards from our country.I'm so embarrassed. I ain't no dummy, I know that many wars have been fought based on unfounded claims and staged events, but at least during those times the lack of media technology allowed our government to pull the wool over our eyes, now, I just feel dumb and duped, a little helpless, like a liar and a thief.

Also, why is Britain sending close to 300 more troops to Afghanistan? I'm not saying WE should be sending off more troops to death or what not, but if I were a trooper/soldier, I'd feel much better if I were sent of to fight the people who fucked up my country, not those who now hate me because my country fucked up their country.
