Ugh
Mrr, so I've had a sore throat since Friday afternoon. By Sunday it had exploded into a full-blown flu. I literally spent all of Sunday and Monday in bed with the laptop. When I called in to work on Monday morning (which involves phoning my mother's cell and saying 'Mom, I'm sick', how cool is that?) I got mothered relentlessly and told that Miko had to bring me drugs and that I was to rest and not go across the road to get them myself.
By Monday afternoon, even though I was feeling better, Mom told me I wasn't to come in on Tuesday, either. Well...fine. I've tried to do what work I could from home, which considering I didn't PLAN for this, is almost nothing.
I'm pretty sure I picked up this bug at the hospital on Thursday night when I took Miko in to have her torn quad looked at.
Today I was determined to at least get out of bed, so I have spent the majority of the day either in front of my computer on my desk \o.o/ or lying on the couch o.o-p which is very much like being in bed. I've found that even though I don't really feel THAT bad, my throat is shot and talking too much makes the cough worse, and that if I sit up too long I feel weak and a little dizzy. And honestly, I feel like an idiot staying at home this long EXCEPT when I've been sitting up for too long.
I'm determined to go to work tomorrow, though. -_-;; At least to get things to work on, damnit. This is just dumb.
In other wonderful news, those who don't also have miko_no_da friended may not know that she got laid off yesterday. This is two days after we spent $1000 tuition for 10 months of Japanese lessons, and three days since I sent off my registration to Yaoicon.
Yes, we are still going.
But god fucking damnit, is all I have to say.
On the bright side, being flat on my back, bored out of my skull, but without enough brain power to be involved in more than one or two RP scenes at a time is doing wonders for my LSAT studying. I'm motoring my way through my study guide like nobody's business, so long as I rest every so often to let my brain recover.
I also re-read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in the last two days. Does anyone have a good home for a really fucking noisy Draco-muse? The last thing I need is one of THOSE moving in and smelling up the place! T_T
