for fictional characters, right now I might for Raylan Givens.
http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0165184/bioI just got some of the books on my Kindle, and although it's totally obvious(at least in this early one) that Leonard was not thinking of Olyphant(Although I personally take time to do that about once a week, cause, why not?) he did the smart thing and said yes to TO embodying his character.I can see why Olyphant thought he would be an awesome part to play, too. Getting to be a smart-mouth instead buttoned up like Seth Bullock. That whole scene with him and Boyd Crowder, where they're talking about "More than ten dollars," kind of cracked me up. I'm not even really sure why.
(I hope I get to watch Season Two soon, even though I'm following along okay, anyway, I think. But I heard so much good stuff about it...)
Felt myself getting kind of pissed as I checked the reviews on the latest one and saw all the semi-literates who can't get through the one-graf Amazon review without a typo talking about how Raylan "isn't up to his usual standard". You know, it might not be. But he's held to that standard longer than you've been misspelling shit. Now that I know how hard writing a book is, I doubt I'll ever toss off "Not up to his usual standard," so lightly and wanna-be snotty again. And not just because I hero-worship Leonard greatly.
