I'm not sure why Thurber Fridays make me feel better,

but they do, despite the fact that the speaker in the stories is frequently confused and hassled by tradespeople or household appliances...it's kind of like "Curb Your Enthusiasm, 1937." Only Thurber is mostly nice is his befuddlement unlike "Larry David"
I guess it's good to know that there isn't some magical era somewhere where people were always polite and knew how to solve their problems...Mr. Thurber lived to snark and doodle another day, didn't he?
