I feel bad about the array of pissy and whiny entries (Hey, maybe I am like Maureen Dowd, at that!)I've left in recent days.I just watched "Across The Universe" this week and it was cool, even if it was less like a musical than a vid somebody got paid for.(minor quibble: I don't believe "Strawberry Fields Forever" had anything to do with the Vietnam War at all, except possibly that that sort of event might make John Lennon prize childhood wonderment and innocence more than he might otherwise. So I think the visuals of exploding strawberries mixed with bombs were...misplaced.) But it was fun and made even really straight me want to get high and watch it again,but I haven't.
I've always sort of related to John. Because we both have smart mouths and chips on our shoulder about where we come from. And we are softer than we seem initially, but still a bad fit for many of George's more...cosmic projects.(Although I've come to appreciate George more as I've gotten older. I'm impressed with him for having such a sincere conversion experience, for one.)
