Chocolate decorations

Feb 15, 2009 18:41

So I posted some superbowl cupcakes a month ago where i made footballs using the melted chocolate technique from whimsical bakehouse.

I'm really liking this technique for detailed decorations. For example, check out my radioactive symbol here:

You may be wondering what this is for. Well, this was one of 40+ decorations I made on Friday for an event next week. I was commissioned by a classmate who started an interdisciplinary program trying to merge the PhD sciences (basic research) better with the medical sciences (i.e. doctor-land). It's a poster session (where you share your research with people in a non-formal environment) that they've named Pastries, PowerPoint, and posters. Guess where the pastries part comes from?!?

Anyways, the event isn't until next week but i was sooooooo ridiculously pleased with how the decorations came out I had to share. Check out my newly started food blog if you wanna see what other biology/chemistry/bioinformatics/medicine related decorations I made.
