Come Celebrate Peace Day
This Friday, September 21, is World Peace Day. The Peace School is sponsoring and organizing a celebration downtown at the Daley Center Plaza. There are several ways that you can help to make the day special.
You can volunteer to be a flag bearer. Every nation's flag will be represented. Flag bearers will bring one flag up to the stage so that their nation can be honored with a wish for peace in that country. Flag bearers are asked to be at the Daley Plaza from 11 am-1 pm.
If you cannot act as a flag bearer, you can still attend in the audience and offer your wishes, thought or prayers for peace during the World Peace Flag Ceremony. In addition, if you attend you can enjoy cultural performances celebrating the diversity of our city and world.
Join the celebration on Friday, September 21 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Daley Center Plaza.
