As you know, Maxwell has a peanut allergy. It's pretty much been a non-issue (if you consider allergy plans, allergy testing, reading labels and carrying an epi-pen a non issue, which I do), after my initial freak out when he was diagnosed at two. As you may not know, Joel Stein (columnist for TIME) wrote a particulary insulting piece calling food allergies a "yuppie invention". He said, "Your kid doesn't have an allergy to nuts. Your kid has a parent who needs to feel special. Your kid also spends recess running and screaming, "No! Stop! Don't rub my head with peanut butter!"

I MAY or MAY NOT have said, "Wow. I hope that asshole has a kid with a peanut allergy."

All I'm going to say is that I really need to use my powers for good instead of evil. Talk about instant karma. Yikes.
