Man, Gepetto!Marco just completely broke my heart. :(
I love that Gold owns up to his plans to Belle and that she's genuinely excited for him. YES, GOLD, EMOTIONAL HONESTY, THAT HAS REWARDS.
Also, Belle/Grumpy is my friendship OTP and I wish she'd bond with him in Storybrooke. ♥♥♥
STOP LOCKING BELLE UP
STOP IT
"Enjoy the lake!" Oh, clever, clever Belle. ♥ You are my eternal favorite.
Mulan and Belle are my dream team, essentially. Brawn and brains. (Although, yeah, Mulan, you really do need to learn that doing stuff alone is not always the best method.)
"No, we need to report this to the sheriff, they'll take care of it!" Man, Belle acclimated to the non-fairytale-world fast, didn't she?
But now she knows about Milah!
Aww, Belle, don't take responsibility for being attacked. :( And Gold, stop trying to force her into things. "I trust you'll do as I wish"? Seriously? No. Although pulling the "I lost my son I don't want to lose you D: D:" card probably earned you a couple points back with her.
I enjoyed "Wait. You're a -- " *punch* "Yeah, I know." Mulan does not have time for your sexism, not when there's a girl with a book to rescue and recruit! "You track him, and I'll kill him."
No, for real, can I talk about how much I love that Belle's bookishness is painted as heroic and awesome and the way she gets the upper hand? Because that is AWESOME. She doesn't need to be a badass with a sword, she's smarter and better-read than you! Like, Belle finds Archie when nobody even knows he's alive, just because she knows how to look shit up in books. That. Is. AWESOME.
(On a note unrelated to Belle or Mulan, I also love that they're actually tackling how "Yeah, Regina? Not so much on the redemption" thing is hitting Henry. 'Cause, yeah, he loves his hero!family, but the woman raised him, evil queen or not.)
"Belle. The fate of my village depends on you. Don't be afraid."
♥♥♥♥
And Belle standing up to Hook! ALL THE LOVE. ALL THE POINTS.
See, Gold, this is why you should be fully honest instead of leaving out the bits that make you look worst. Otherwise immortal Irish pirates with eyeliner tell her instead and make it sound every bit as bad as it possibly can.
...But then she knocked him down and grabbed the shawl, so.
"You're writing something ... " She's not just smart, she's open-minded! Sure, she came to slay the beast, but it is asking for her help, and she will not turn down anyone in need! I LOVE HER SO MUCH YOU GUYS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND and that's how Philip hooked up with Mulan, it's all because of Belle, YES THANK YOU I WOULD LIKE A MULAN/BELLE REUNION NOW PLEASE
"Please show me I'm not wrong." Yes, Gold! Show mercy and prove your girl right because SHE IS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING OKAY
I am sort of in a Belle-fangirling mood right now, sorry. She is not actually right about everything. BUT SHE'S RIGHT ABOUT AN AWFUL LOT.
Also I'm really glad they're not dragging out the Cora!Regina misunderstanding longer. Nope, Archie cuts that off at the pass.
"This would've been lost, if it wasn't for you, Belle. I would've been lost." YES. PAY HER THE RESPECT AND ADMIRATION SHE IS DUE.
"Oh. You're alive!" I love how Mulan always looks like she wants to hug people but won't because that would ruin her Stoic Warrior image. It's just very endearing to me. (I also really love how Belle Brings People Together, but you're all probably sick of my Belle fangirling by now.)
I was seriously worried that the shawl wouldn't work for a second there.
HOLY SHIT NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO MY BELLE NO NO NO YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY VAULTED OVER THE LINE HOOK THERE IS NO COMING BACK FROM THAT
And then he got hit by a car.
Maybe there is such a thing as karma in the Storybrooke world.
THAT IS A TERRIBLE WAY TO END THE EPISODE WHAT ARE YOU DOING
