The Ned/Olive stuff was adorable. Especially the quiet side moments when they're like "Okay, you know this isn't real, right?" "Yeah, I know, and I want to thank you again for going along with it." "Oh, don't thank me, I'm glad to help!" and so on. So cute.
The Emerson/Chuck stuff was, likewise, adorable. "The Alive-Again Avenger!" And I love how she stirs up the crowd to get him to take the job. I want to see more of them being Private Investigator And Plucky Sidekick.
Loved the return of Randy, really, like you wouldn't believe. He's awkward!cute. But I am not shipping Olive/Randy at all. Olive/Alfredo or bust.
Olive's backstory makes me sad, but I really adore Buster and Jerry, and the three of them are adorable together. How many times can I use that word? I love how parental they are of her and how much she clearly adores them and how Ned pretends to be her fiance so they won't think less of her and how pissed-off they get when they find out it was a lie. Not pissed off at Olive, mind, pissed at Ned.
And Ned's "put on my cape" moment was LOVE. Superman!Piemaker for the win! We all knew he couldn't keep away from using his powers forever.
"You'd think that stocking dead fruit for baking while we're waiting for fresh fruit to rot would be depressing but I find it sort of cathartic."
Lily and Vivian were right on, OMG I missed them. Snarktastic and tragic and just basically wonderful. The awkwardness of Vivian giving Olive the wedding veil was just amazing.
And we got Olive singing Lionel Richie's "Hello". OMG OMG OMG. Missed this show so much.
I MISSED THEM ALL SO MUCH. I missed Olive and Ned and Chuck and Emerson and Lily and Vivian and the Narrator and the random guest characters and the random crimes with complicated explanations and dead bodies and the way you can use "adorable" to describe a show that deals with such dark themes.
How did they cancel this show. How. HOW.
