Playoffs and some other stuff too....

Well the playoffs were certainly a roller coaster for the Angels and ME. I was lucky enough to go to all the post-season games played here at home. I am very sad that the team ended on such a terrible note, but there is nothing to be done now...just sit and wait....wait for the World Series (GO Houston or Cards!)...wait for Bill Stoneman to make moves on the Roster...just a lot of that oh so fun ____ & _____.

So the past couple weeks surrounding the ALDS and ALCS were quite hectic for me. First of all, I had to take a business trip to Fresno while the Angels were in NY. As it turns out, it worked in my favor that the game was postponed that Saturday, because it allowed me to make it to the game on that Monday, Oct. 10th. I was driving in on Monday morning from Fresno after a crazy weekend of driving for hours on only to miss our appointments when we headed out on Saturday....but I digress, that whole ordeal merits a post of its own. So Mary and I drove in from Fresno after visiting one of our clients. Traffic was not bad, but it was after 3pm by the time I returned the rental car. Of course then it was back to my house to change and head out to Anaheim. I still had to stop at the office to pick up my ticket which I had left with a co-worker since originally the game was to be played on Sunday and I would be out of town. So with ticket in hand I made it into the stadium and into my seat right as the first pitch was thrown. Yay! All the running around was worth it after we came away with the victory and advanced into the ALCS!

After taking game 1 of the ALCS, many, including myself thought we were well on our way to our 2nd World Series in 4 years....but alas, things took a turn for the worse in Game 2 and the Angels never did win another game.

For a more detailed account of the playoffs, stroll on over to lovethosehalos.

Seeing as the baseball season is officially over for us, we'll mope around for a few days and then we'll hope and pray that some key players are resigned (i.e. Paul Byrd and Bengie Molina).

Side note: I finally picked up the ATV I won on Fan Appreciation Day at Angel Stadium and it is really cool...taking up lots of space in the garage. Hopefully we can find a buyer for it real soon. Anyway, when I was at the stadium to pick up said vehicle, I ran into a few players/coaches that were there to pack up their lockers. It was so sad to see their solemn expressions. They obliged a few waiting fans for an autograph or a photo, but it was obvious that the loss...only 1 day old, was still fresh on their minds.

At least I can finally get started on re-decorating my bedroom and catching a few movies before the 2006 baseball season commences. Can't wait for Fan Fest and Spring Training!!
