I'm reading The Iliad, should I fell bad that I'm rooting for the Trojans?
I know how it all ends but thanks to persephone all I can think is that eventually Hector and Paris will be ripped apart. It's a heartbreaking thought.

I'm curious: what Iliad translation are you reading, please? The Lattimore one is poetic, with all the known epitaphs, but the Fagles one is dramatic and quite a page turner.

I don't blame you for rooting for the Trojans! I first learned the story of the Trojan War in primary school, and I remember we spent the better part of the term on it. I was under the impression the Trojans were the victors and heroes because we'd spent so much time on Hector, Paris and the rest of them (I was nine, and even then was in love with Hector). Well imagine my abject horror when the Greeks wiped them out. I don't think I ever got over that trauma. *grins*

And lastly, I want HBO to know that they've made me age prematurely waiting one year between OZ season dvd releases. Argh.

I'm reading the Fagles translation and I'm finding it incredibly easy to read.
I'm right there with you on the OZ, I've never seen the last episode of the show, what the heck happens? I know Toby had been paroled but ended up back in OZ after Keller snitched on him, but after that, I don't know.
Hey, one more thing, why did your responses end up in my e-mail account? (not that I mind)
