A thought on God..

Sep 18, 2007 00:51

So today, I was thinking to myself that while some people think that God made the world instantly, for whatever reason.. I was thinking about how that just couldn't be possible.. and for more than scientific reasons, of course.

I was thinking.. it's a bit like how parents don't just want their kids born and then in an instant they become adults.. we like to see them grow. This is mostly due to our love..

But of course the love of humans is SO limited compared to God, whose very nature is love itself, and so I was thinking, how much MORE would he enjoy seeing things develop? It's a bit like.. well I mean it's entirely possible for the theory of evolution and creationism to coincide, somewhat. I mean.. I really don't think we came from monkeys, personally. But I don't believe we were always like the way are now either.

And it comes to mind, that often Jesus used parables that related to seed-planting, to growth, to time spent in the development of things.. and I mean, of course the purpose of parables was so the common people could understand the philosophy that Jesus was trying to impart, but also.. I mean why the use of so much growth?

I think it's just that God loves growth.. and that we all say, "life is so hard." and yes.. it can be of course, but that's part of growth. If life were easy for too long, we'd never grow, ever. In a way, tribulations are necessary so that we may further ourselves.

Anyway.. so yes.. I mean, God has always been around right? He's infinite.. so imagine how boring it'd be for God to make something in an instant. I mean, technically a thousand years could be seen as an instant for someone who is eternal, but really.. I think God just sorta.. "planted the seeds" of life.. set the universe in motion.. who knows, maybe the big bang really happened. And watched it all unfurl before him, tending to it as a gardener lovingly cares for his/her garden.

yeah.. this thought occurred to me shortly after reading a certain chapter in The Magician's Nephew from the Narnia series. Quite an interesting chapter that was.. I rather loved it. The idea of life coming forth from song.

That's it for now.. it's nothing spectacular.. just a thought.
