Life. It's like the weather, in a way.

Since I'm dying to update this damn thing, but can't bear to type on the idiosyncratic keyboard at home....

My computer, she is back in the shop. Worse than that, actually, she is shipped out to be taken apart. I was right initially, it was an AC adapter issue (as in, there was no power getting to the computer from the power cord), but the techie who called me recommended that I have my fans replaced. (Desktop replacement HP = two fans to cool a bitch.) Since it's only under warranty for the next two months, I thought fan-fixin' was a good idea.

My job ends this Saturday, which is both sad (easiest $7 an hour EVAR, OMG) and happy (I've been trying to stave off a cold for almost a week now. I just want to give in, be sick, and stop prolonging it).

My mind, she is going crazy without a fast computer and high-speed internet. I have watched far too much TV while home (although I missed the last episodes of 30 Rock and The Amazing Race, grr) and I think I've, um, gotten myself addicted to American Idol. Go Melinda and LaKisha! Bones has improved a whole hell of a lot if last night's episode was any indication, so I might have to track me down some DVDs. It is opposite Friday Night Lights, after all.

Also been catching up on movies, since I saw maybe five films in theaters last year (extremely low for me; I didn't even do my annual Best Picture Oscar Marathon). Little Miss Sunshine was one of the best road trip movies I've ever seen. And with all due respect to Alan Arkin and Abigail Breslin, the performance that blew me away was that of Steve Carell. (His performance and roll also make it impossible for me to call LMS a comedy.) Seriously, why wasn't he nominated?

In other news, my brother is being an idiot and is going to try out for Special Forces. I'm surprised my eyes didn't roll out of my head when he told me. On the one hand, it's good to hear him enthusiastic again, but for fuck's sake! With four months to go, he wants to spend one of them in hellish training conditions at Ft. Bragg?! The Army's turned him into a masochist.

Okay, positive closer, positive closer...My brackets, they are filled out and ready to be busted. Go Jayhawks (men) and Tar Heels (women)!

rl is fucking boring, my computer, basketball, al
