More Deep Thoughts about Big Brother 7

Missed some of the episode as we elected to watch the beginning of the Emmys. I still have a totally weird and irreverent crush on Conan, FYI. Best part of the ceremony were the videos for the writers of variety shows (or whatever the hell it's called). For The Colbert Report, all the writers were bears except Stephen Colbert...who was a bear hunter. For The Daily Show, they had a guy underwater showing the names on large cue cards as they were read. When they got to the end, the guy started to choke and drown, and Jon jumps into the tank to rip the cards out of his hand and show the last name (his own, of course). Late Night had an office of Indian telemarketers pretend to be staffers, and The Late Show had arrows pointing to combatants on a Jerry Springer-type show. The rest of the show (except maybe Dick Clark) was a huge disappointment (NO THE OFFICE IS NOT BETTER THAN ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) and has been banished from my memory.

Being Sunday, there was a lot of fluff to fill the time. Will flirting with the backyard camera was hysterical. Dad turned to me and said: "He's a little full of himself, isn't he?" I was like, "A little?" You can see some of it here and here.

The reward challenge was great as well. George humping everyone to get the "nectar" out...the man was possessed! I like that they good-naturedly teased him about the slop pass, when it was obvious. Trampoline for Will! (I can't wait to see him act like he did in S2.) Christmas in August! Alcohol and meat and fish for a week! Like Will said, Atkinson's for alcoholics. This week is going to be fun.

Best case scenario on Tuesday: Will wins POV and saves Janelle. If this doesn't happen, Erika might put my evil doctor up and then I would be very sad. *makes sacrifices to the reality TV gods*

Not fun parts: Boogie showmancing Erika (although I have to confess that I laughed when she said "if I find out after this over that you were playing me, I'll fucking kick your ass" and Mike grinned over her head), Danielle being so self-righteously pissed off about James' exit, and Erika's extremely predictable nominations. On the whole, though, extremely funny show. I think the editors are getting a little punchy. Home stretch, editor people! The goal is in sight! We'll be down to four by Thursday because of that double elimination, so just! Hold! On!
